I have recently been involved in preparing my A/V for future arrivals of an HD LCD and a Playstation 3. I am a person that research price and specs for months, and the bottom line is that you can't beat Belkin Products, I have used them in every thing from race vehicles to the recent hooking up a new sub woofer. I doubt if find this quality of cable in San Diego for under $40.00 and it would probably be the same product from a parts wholesaler that is open to the public. I would spent money on transportation and sales tax so with the super saver shipping I saved at least $25.00. I have purchased a Belkin Surge Suppressor for all my new gear, and within the next few months will continue to replace what is not Belkin with their products. No one needs Monster cables,but if you are impressed by the image at least they won't hurt your gear, just your wallet

You don't need an $80.00 Monster cable to do the job. I've tried both and there was no sonic/ audible difference to my ears. Nice flexible jacket with this Belkin cable. Works for me.

Don't be fooled by deceptive "Monster" marketing tactics. You don't need expensive A/V cables to achieve premium sound. Check any A/V forum and you will be able to confirm this for yourself! This is a great product at a reasonable price.

i had to drill a hole in two pieces of a granite post. I used a standard hammer drill (not a rotary hammer). started out great but 3-4 inches in the bit was shot. i'm still pretty happy with it though. they drill threw masonry like butter.

When coupled with a hammer drill like the Bosch 1194AVSRK (whose specifications say it capable of driving a 3/4" hole in concrete), you can actually use this 1" bit _without_ a pilot hole. Very, very nice.

I was disappointed with this book and also with Debbie's Painted Kitchen book. Both are heavy on her commentary & light on how to do's. Plus I didn't think that many of the ideas were very original or creative. If you just want to read commentary that sounds very much like her on her HGTV show, these books are for you. For great ideas, save your money.

I usually like the TV program and after watching an episode where Debbie transforms an old door into a beautiful headboard I wanted to buy the book to follow up on the idea. However the book is more of a portfolio of Debbie's work. Sadly the project I'm interested on only takes one page, very brief directions amd doesn't show the before and after. The step by step instructions are very simple, you need to be knowledgeable of the matter to be able to do anything. I would hope from books of this sort more trick and tips of the trade.

One of the biggest mistakes most people make, it seems, is to embark on a renovation project without reading up on it. This great book helps prepare for countless projects, small & large, BEFORE tackling each. I count this as an extremely valuable book with a trunkful of information & ideas along with good solid info to read up on. Whole chapters on making a choice whether to move or remodel, discussing the budget, choosing a contractor, contracts, etc, etc. There's good solid information to absorb which will be invaluable. Part One is full of things you should know beforehand and Part Two helps gear in on the project step by step.

I would highly recommend this excellent reference to any out there that are anticipating some future renovations. Early on is a good time to take the time to read up on all the generalities which I promise you, most especially for the novice, will be most valuable. And if you're one of those who have had a renovation in your past, you might be surprised at what you will learn from this book that will definitely help the process move on so much more smoothly for you.

I stumbled on this book on my library's DIY shelf and was impressed as I read. It is NOT about being your own General Contractor. (In fact she presents some good thinking points on why you wouldn't want to be your own GC). It IS about Construction Project Management. Includes stuff you should think about before writing the contracts, making decisions, how to handle delays and problems, pay the bills, and how it all fits together. The stuff the homeowner has to take care of when they have someone else working for them.
I would recommend that anyone undertaking a significant renovation read this before they start hiring.
